Serving our clients in Iowa and around the country since 1894, Two Rivers Insurance Services has grown to become one of the most respected insurance agencies in the region.  Our solid performance over the years has granted us access to numerous top rated national and regional insurance companies, providing us with excellent insurance products and programs that give us the ability to offer the perfect solution for each client.  We work closely with our clients to help determine the best coverage for their company and their families. 

Headquartered in Burlington, IA, Two Rivers Insurance Services has expanded its presence into other Iowa communities in recent years.  Our Iowa office locations include Fort Madison, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa City/Cedar Rapids, Earlham, and West Des Moines.  We are proud to be an important part of each of these communities. 

The forerunner of Two Rivers Insurance Services began in Danville, IA in 1894 as Cady Insurance Agency when R.P. (Ralph) Cady began selling insurance throughout rural Des Moines County on horse and buggy.  The agency was later passed on to his son, Edwin Cady, who owned the agency until his death in 1963.  Chuck Rucker, who joined the agency as a minority owner in 1962, then co-owned the agency with Cady’s grandson, E.C. Rapp until Rapp’s retirement in 1987.  Subsequent owners included Jeff Rucker and Kevin Carr, who merged the agency with Burlington Bank & Trust in 1999.

Several acquisitions have been made in recent years including Hopkirk & Feightner Insurance, Ft. Madison in 2005, Freedom Financial Group, Nauvoo, IL in 2006, Van Ahn Insurance, Ankeny, IA in 2008, and Premium Business Insurance, West Des Moines in 2009.

The agency’s name became Two Rivers Insurance Services in 2005 when Burlington Bank & Trust changed its name to Two Rivers Bank & Trust.  We are a member of Two Rivers Financial Group – Banking, Insurance, and Investments.

Employee Benefit Systems

In the early 1980's, two local benefits agents, Bill Kelly and Leon Beaty, were unhappy with the service and slow turnaround time from TPA firms they were working with. To provide better service to their clients they decided to start their own TPA firm and in 1982 Employee Benefit Systems (EBS) was born. Initially, EBS started handling self-insured health care plans, Flexible Spending Plans and dental plan administration, but added additional services over the years including partially self-funded medical plans, self-funded vision, COBRA, and consolidated billing. Today, EBS continues working hard to meet the needs of brokers and clients throughout the Midwest.
